Sean "Diddy" Combs, musician and rapper, has been at the centre of a major controversy where the artist is facing a lot of charges against him. Diddy has a long list of charges stacked up against him in the case, including but not limited to racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and using transportation for prostitution. The man is also facing various civil lawsuits as well that allege that the singer used drugs, rape and violence to intimidate and abuse people around him.
Recently, a new lawyer joined the rapper’s team, who claims she had been raped allegedly in 2001.
Diddy’s new lawyer is a survivor of sexual assault?
Nicole Westmoreland, the latest lawyer that has joined Diddy’s legal team ahead of his case hearing, has shared that she was allegedly raped in 2001 when she was only 19 years old. The lawyer at the time was working with a firm that specialised in getting suspended drivers’ licences established again, as per TMZ.
As per the lawyer, the VP of a record label, Bryan Williams, and another man called ‘Stone’ had called her to a record studio to make a sales pitch. On one of the nights, she had attended said studio with three of her friends. According to her, there was a party going on at the studio, and there were two specific men in attendance: Alfred Cleveland, a friend of Ronald Williams, who was Bryan’s brother.
She has alleged that while at the party, she wanted to use the restroom. Cleveland then offered to show her where it was, and instead of leaving her alone, he forced her inside the room and allegedly raped the woman.
The case was not lost, as even though the lawyer was threatened, she still went to the police. Cleveland was arrested and later also pleaded guilty to the charges of rape and aggravated assault.
Currently, the jury selection process is ongoing for Diddy’s criminal trial. Around 16 more jurors have been added to the stand. Once the process is finalised, the hearing of statements from both sides will take place around May 12.
