In an extraordinary turn of events, Vicky Kaushal’s historical epic Chhaava has achieved a feat that seemed nearly impossible—surpassing the Hindi collections of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava added another Rs 5 crore to its total on its 25th day, taking its overall collection to Rs 516.8 crore, edging past Baahubali 2’s ₹510.99 crore Hindi total.

This milestone cements Chhaava as the sixth highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, surpassing one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated blockbusters. While Baahubali 2 remains an industry benchmark with its mammoth Rs 1,788.06 crore worldwide total, Chhaava’s remarkable Hindi box office journey highlights its resonance with audiences.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava portrays the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and has struck a chord with audiences, particularly in Maharashtra. Chhaava also featured stellar performances by Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai and Viineet Kumar Singh as Kavi Kalash. Post Chhaava, Vicky will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt and he also has Amar Kaushik’s Mahavtar lined up.Vicky was also supposed to team up with his Uri- The Surgical Strike director Aditya Dhar for The Immortal Ashwatthama, a poster was also released to announce the film. But after a lot of back and forth Vicky left the film and Aditya later decided to shelve the film. In an interview he stated that they would need to wait and observe until technology becomes more affordable or until there is an increase in the number of cinema halls in the country, allowing more people to watch films.
