Timothee Chalamet's fans blame Kylie Jenner for Oscars LOSS; fuels VIRAL 'bad luck' theory

Timothee Chalamet lost the Best Actor Academy Award to Adrien Brody at the 97th Academy Awards, and his fans seem convinced that girlfriend, Kylie Jenner is to blame.

Chalamet, who was nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, lost the golden statue to Adrien Brody for his performance in The Brutalist.

Chalamet and Jenner appeared much in love at the ceremony. The couple were seen holding hands and locking lips throughout the ceremony. Though Jenner skipped the red carpet, she was seen joining the hunk at the Dolby Theatre.

Chalamet was hard to miss in his bold yellow Givenchy suit, while Jenner stunned in a black Miu Miu cut-out sequin gown.




While the loss was a disappointment for many, some fans took to social media to push an unusual fan theory that gained popularity over this year's award season.

Many on social media seem to believe that Jenner’s presence at the event was to blame for Chalamet’s defeat. The so-called “bad luck” theory stems from the fact that Chalamet won at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards—an event where Jenner was absent. Fans on X quickly latched onto the coincidence, with one user predicting before the show, “Kylie Jenner is in attendance, Timothée has lost.” Another remarked, “Notice every time Timothée has brought Kylie to an awards show, he’s lost.”

After Brody’s win was announced, the chatter only intensified. One fan wrote, “Timothée won SAG and Kylie wasn’t there. That’s the only time he won. Make it make sense lol #Oscars.” Others were more direct in their frustration, with some posts going viral blaming Jenner for the loss.




Jenner’s attendance at the event came days after the tragic passing of her hairstylist, Jesus Guerrero.

The couple, who has been going strong for over two years, has shied away from making red carpet appearances together. However, Kylie has been Timothee's date for almost all the awards leading up to the Oscars.
