The trailer for ‘Subham’,
Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s debut production venture, was unveiled on Sunday (April 27) — and it promises a quirky, genre-bending ride filled with humor, horror, and heart.
"Join a fun ride"Samantha, who also makes a hilarious cameo, shared the trailer on her social media handles, inviting fans to "join a fun ride" when ‘Subham’ hits theatres worldwide on May 9.
The trailer opens with a group of men casually discussing outdated ideas of masculinity, boasting about how their wives should be at their beck and call, specifically to have coffee ready whenever they please. However, not everyone agrees with this ‘alpha male’ mindset, as one of them opposes the outdated views of his friends.
Twist happens!Soon, a strange phenomenon begins to disrupt their domestic lives: the women become completely entranced by a mysterious TV show that airs every night at 9 pm. As the men lose their grip over their households, chaos — and comedy — ensues. Their ‘Apha-male’ concept is getting challenged then on!
Samantha’s interesting cameo appearanceThe biggest surprise comes towards the end of the trailer when Samantha appears as a Maata (spiritual figure). In a hilarious moment, when asked what will happen to the men, she dramatically signals that they might all meet their doom, even offering mock condolences. Her spirited cameo adds a delightful layer of fun to the otherwise spooky setup. The trailer also promises a ‘Stree’ movie vibe to it, which makes it more interesting.
