Naga Chaitanya ended their marriage in 2021 after four years together. Both actors handled the split with maturity and respect, as the decision to part ways was mutual. Throwback to the time when Samantha decided to turn down a hefty alimony cheque reportedly offered post-separation.
According to an India Today report, Samantha refused to accept a substantial alimony offer from Naga Chaitanya. Reports revealed that she was offered a staggering Rs 200 crore as financial settlement, which she declined after careful consideration. Samantha chose not to take any money from her ex-husband or his family, feeling confident in her own financial independence and focusing instead on her career. At the time, she was deeply hurt but determined not to let personal pain affect her professional life.
The couple's wedding in 2017 was a grand affair, celebrated over two days with both Hindu and Christian ceremonies in Goa, attended by close family and industry friends. Their relationship was admired for its genuine affection and mutual support, making their eventual separation all the more difficult for fans to accept.
After the divorce, Naga Chaitanya, in a podcast with Raw Talks With VK described the split as a conscious, respectful decision made after much thought, acknowledging the pain but also the grace with which both moved on. Coming from a broken family himself, he expressed understanding of the repercussions of separation and asked the public and media to respect their privacy.
