Sexual misconduct controversy surrounding the CEO of MADEIN’s agency
During a press conference held last month by former member Gaeun’s mother, who alleged that the CEO of that company had harassed her daughter. While the member was first unnamed, it was later revealed to be Gaeun. Her mother pleaded in the press conference, stating that “My daughter clearly told him to stop touching her body. But the CEO ignored her and subjected her to continued unfair treatment and professional disadvantages.”
Her mother also shared that “I told my daughter she had to endure to reach her goals because that was how social life worked. I always just told her that she started it because you wanted to. I would just follow without expressing my opinion because I was afraid my child would be harmed. I would console her, saying, ‘I love you like my own daughter.’ But she suffered as she was being watched while being locked in the dorm every day.”
During the press conference, it was claimed that the CEO had made promises to resign from the company and also issue a public announcement and apology regarding the matter; however, none of the promises were followed through.
According to the same reports, the company chose to publicly deny all allegations and issue a statement. They shared that “There are many discrepancies in the claims made by the former member. Last year, the individual demanded a large settlement based on a one-sided account. When we declined, they filed a criminal complaint nearly six months later, which is deeply regrettable.”
