IPL Live Score: 'We are playing with the same team' - Rishabh Pant
Definitely (would have bowled first).
The way this wicket is playing, it stops a bit in the first innings and as the game goes on, it gets better and better. Hand is okay. (Things to keep in mind while batting first) It's going to be on the slower side, but gradually it gets better and better as you keep on batting. So not losing too many wickets, that's the only thing to keep in mind and just playing according to the situation. We don't think about what's happening around us. We are playing with the same team.
IPL Live Score: 'We'll bowl' - Axar Patel
We'll bowl. Red soil wicket and there was dew in the last game as well. We focussed on what we did right and improve areas where we erred. We aren't thinking too much. Impact Player - we decide based on the situation. Mohit Sharma is out, Chameera is playing.

IPL Live Score: KL Rahul returns to 'old home' Ekana stadium
KL Rahul will walk onto familiar turf on Tuesday, but this time in new colours. The star Indian batter, now representing Delhi Capitals, returns to the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow to face his former team, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), in what promises to be a high-stakes IPL 2025 clash.
Rahul, who led LSG from their debut season in 2022 until 2024, will be playing against the franchise he once captained — and at the very venue where he was the face of the home crowd.
Delhi Capitals marked the moment by sharing a video on social media of Rahul entering the stadium, captioned: "Enter KL Rahul [fire emoji]".
In fine form this season, Rahul has amassed 266 runs from six matches at an impressive average of 53.20 and a strike rate of 158.33. He’s struck two fifties and has emerged as a pillar in Delhi’s batting line-up. He missed the earlier clash between DC and LSG in Visakhapatnam, a match that Delhi narrowly won by one wicket.
Rahul's release ahead of the 2024 mega auction was a major talking point, especially after a solid personal season last year, where he scored 520 runs in 14 games. However, LSG failed to reach the playoffs, finishing seventh.
With both teams tied on 10 points, DC currently sit second, while LSG are fifth due to net run rate. A win in Lucknow could shake up the points table — and for Rahul, it’s a chance to make a statement at his old home.
IPL Live Score: All eye son Mayank and Faf!
Mayank Yadav was listed as one of LSG's substitutes in the previous match — a possible sign that he's nearing full match fitness. If he is deemed fit to play against Delhi Capitals, Prince Yadav could be the one to make way.
Faf du Plessis is unlikely to return for this fixture, with DC skipper Axar Patel suggesting after the match against Rajasthan Royals that the South African veteran may miss up to three more games.
Meanwhile, DC might consider including Dushmantha Chameera in the playing XI, given his familiarity with the conditions in Lucknow and his strong record against Nicholas Pooran, having dismissed him three times in four innings.
IPL Live Score: 'There is not much advantage playing at home in IPL'
Rookie Delhi Capitals all-rounder Vipraj Nigam believes that the concept of "home advantage" doesn’t hold much weight in the Indian Premier League, pointing to the struggles of teams like Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Punjab Kings in asserting dominance at their home venues this season.
"Home conditions are not very advantageous in IPL but yes you have an idea as to what to consider. There is not much advantage to the team," Nigam said ahead of DC’s clash against Lucknow Super Giants.
"You are familiar with the weather, ground dimension etc. But all teams have similar preparation."
The 20-year-old leg-spinner from Uttar Pradesh is hoping to make the most of his familiarity with the conditions in Lucknow, having played there during the UP T20 League.
"The UP T20 league happened here. So we have played T20 games here. Sameer and I have an idea of the ground so we will try follow the same process we did in UP T20."
Nigam has made a strong impression with the ball for Delhi Capitals and emphasized the importance of contributing in both departments.
"I consider myself an all-rounder. I have to make contributions with the ball and also with the bat whenever required."
Playing in front of family and friends brings added emotion, according to the youngster.
"Yes, there is a lot of pressure and nervousness in all the games. It just adds up when you play in front of your family and coach."
He also credited the experienced members of the squad for guiding him through the tournament.
"I get advice from the seniors in every game. We do get some help from the seniors. There are some players who were in Lucknow last year and are here this year as well. We talk about those aspects in our team meetings and plan accordingly."
IPL Live Score: CONTRASTING FORTUNES FOR CAPTAINS PANT AND AXAR
There’s a curious irony at play: while both teams have performed well — each with 10 points — their captains have had contrasting individual campaigns.
For LSG, Rishabh Pant’s form has been a growing concern. The flamboyant wicketkeeper-batter has scored just 106 runs in eight matches, with 63 of those coming in a single innings. His overall strike rate of 98 is uncharacteristically low, raising questions about his impact.
Pant will now be tested against a quality DC bowling attack featuring Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, Vipraj Nigam, and Mukesh Kumar.
Meanwhile, Axar Patel — leading DC — has fared better with the bat, scoring 140 runs at a strike rate of 159. But that improvement has come at a cost. With just one wicket from seven matches and an economy of 9.36, his bowling has taken a backseat.
The increased responsibility of captaincy and a higher batting role may be taking a toll on Axar’s primary skill. The DC think-tank will want their skipper to find balance and contribute more effectively with the ball to add depth to their attack.

IPL Live Score: Hello and welcome!
Hello and welcome to the Live coverage of IPL 2025 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals.
Delhi Capitals will be hoping for a stronger showing from their openers when they take on an increasingly confident Lucknow Super Giants in the ‘City of Nawabs’ on Tuesday in the IPL 2025.
So far this season, Delhi’s opening combination has been a game of roulette. Between Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Abishek Porel, and the most recent addition, Karun Nair, the Capitals have shuffled through three different pairs in their last five matches. The results? Partnerships of 23, 34, 0, 9, and 0 — hardly the kind of starts that inspire confidence.
The inconsistency can partly be attributed to Du Plessis’ injury, and the South African’s fitness will be under close scrutiny ahead of this key clash.
Despite the shaky starts, DC have won five of their seven games, with their middle-order — under the guidance of KL Rahul — operating like a well-oiled machine.
However, against Lucknow’s efficient bowling unit, that might not be enough.
LSG’s bowling — featuring the likes of Digvesh Rathi, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, and the slightly expensive but experienced Shardul Thakur — has quietly but effectively choked opposition batters.
Avesh Khan’s clutch death overs, especially in the two-run win against Rajasthan Royals, showcased LSG’s growing belief that they can turn games from any situation.
With that in mind, Delhi can ill afford another poor start. They’ll want their openers to lay a platform, rather than repeatedly leaving the middle-order to clean up the mess.
On the other hand, Lucknow have found solidity at the top. Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, and Aiden Markram have consistently fired, giving LSG the edge in the Powerplay phase.
