Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce eye quiet life in Montana as he says NFL can ‘kick rocks’

Travis Kelce strongly opposes the NFL's trend toward indoor stadiums and artificial turf, advocating for the authentic, downtown football experience and natural grass. Meanwhile, he and Taylor Swift consider Montana for a quieter life away from the public eye, finding solace in its serenity.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might be heading to Montana for good—but he isn’t leaving Kansas City without getting a few things off his chest. Arrowhead Stadium is iconic, loud, cold, and real grass. It gives the Kansas City Chiefs the kind of home-field advantage NFL players dream about. So naturally, Travis Kelce is beyond annoyed at the league’s growing obsession with domes, turf, and suburban stadiums. And he’s making it loud and clear.

Travis Kelce thinks Cleveland Browns’ new dome idea ruins football’s city vibe

On a recent episode of the New Heights podcast, Travis Kelce saw the Cleveland Browns’ vision for a new stadium in suburban Brook Park, complete with a dome. He didn't hold back—downtown football is just better.
"I just feel like sports towns, it just feels better when it is downtown," Kelce said. "Just do it downtown. We love it being around."
And Kelce had strong feelings about shutting out the weather entirely:
"Do you at least agree that an indoor stadium is kind of going against the nature of living up there on the lake?"
Basically, Kelce thinks football needs the city buzz. The cold air. The tough conditions. Because sanitized football isn't football at all—it's boring.

Travis Kelce goes off on NFL artificial turf—says it should ‘kick rocks’

Domes aren't the only thing ticking Kelce off—he's done with artificial turf too. Player injuries linked to turf are all over the news, and Kelce thinks the solution isn't complicated. NFL stadiums can have retractable roofs, sure, but keep the natural grass.
"Just make it a retractable roof and keep the elements," Kelce insisted. "And then, when you want to do a stadium for a live show in December, close the roof."
And if teams want indoor events? Kelce points straight to Vegas and Arizona as models. Those stadiums have trays of real grass sliding in and out—giving everyone the best of both worlds. His final words on turf?
"This turf stuff has to kick rocks, man." per Sports Illustrated.
The NFL can do better, and Travis Kelce wants them to start now.

Kansas City Chiefs future stadium plans better listen to Travis Kelce (just sayin’)

Last year, developers teased a dome-covered suburban stadium for the Kansas City Chiefs in Wyandotte County. Same vibe Kelce just roasted Cleveland for. It wasn't an official plan from the Chiefs, but still—it got people talking. Fans argued, and Kelce clearly heard it.
Kansas City is deciding whether to keep GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium or move, but Kelce's not staying quiet. Without mentioning Kansas City directly, his criticism of Cleveland’s dome concept makes his position obvious: Keep the Chiefs downtown, keep them outdoors, and keep them playing real football.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce choosing quiet Montana life as NFL noise gets louder

Off the field, Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift are seriously considering making Montana their new normal. Between his Kansas City mansion and her New York City townhouse, their life is nonstop noise. Montana is their escape—and according to a source speaking to RadarOnline, they're getting serious about making it permanent.
"Taylor and Travis love Montana," the insider revealed. "There are no paparazzi, no pressure. Just mountains, good food, and close friends. It's their happy place."
Recently, the couple was spotted at a super-private speakeasy called Auric Room at Lone Mountain Ranch. It was described by locals as "intimate, chill, and very off-the-grid," and the couple seemed happier and freer than ever.
"They could see themselves building a life there someday," added the source. "It's the one place they truly feel free."
Montana has quietly become a celebrity haven in recent years, prized for its privacy and slower pace of life.
Far from the chaos of cities like New York and Los Angeles—where Taylor owns an $18 million, seven-bedroom townhouse in Tribeca—Montana offers a more relaxed way of living.
Several A-listers have settled in and around Big Sky, a resort town nestled in the Rocky Mountains, known for its world-class skiing and close access to Yellowstone National Park.
