NBA analyst explains why Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo could target New Orleans Pelicans in potential trade

NBA analyst Christopher Kline suggests Giannis Antetokounmpo could find a good fit with the New Orleans Pelicans, citing their new GM's old-school mindset and the team's draft capital. While the Pelicans may not offer a record-breaking contract, they could provide a reliable partner in Zion Williamson. Fans are urging Antetokounmpo to stay with the Bucks after their recent playoff exit.

Milwaukee Bucks power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has not yet revealed which team he will be aiming for when he asks his team to trade him in the offseason. Now, an NBA analyst has suggested that the best place for the player to head could be the New Orleans Pelicans, where he could find people with a similarly old-school mindset. However, the cash flow aspect may not be as lucrative as Antetokounmpo might be hoping for.

Could the New Orleans Pelicans be Giannis Antetokounmpo's next team?

FanSided.com’s Christopher Kline has claimed that the New Orleans Pelicans are the dark horse in the Western Conference that could welcome Antetokounmpo, as their new GM Joe Dumars may possibly be very interested in him. Dropping his take on the matter, Kline wrote on the website recently, “The New Orleans Pelicans are a major sleeper here. Falling all the way to No. 7 was not ideal, but new team president Joe Dumars is equipped with one of the deepest reservoirs of draft capital in the NBA. Moreover, he brings a somewhat classic, old-school mindset to the front office. Giannis is a very classic, old-school superstar.”Kline is of the opinion that the New Orleans Pelicans need someone more reliable than their star performer Zion Williamson, and Antetokounmpo could be a perfect fit. They also have Milwaukee’s next two draft picks, along with the No. 7 overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft. However, it is still not that lucrative an offer, as Antetokounmpo will be looking for a record-breaking sum in return—and the Pelicans may not have that much to shell out.
Amid all the discussion about his trade, Antetokounmpo has dropped several candid pictures of himself on Instagram along with the caption: "Year 12 in the books." Antetokounmpo wrote in the caption with a few pictures from the season. The post was flooded with requests from Bucks fans urging him to stay with the team next season as well.A fan reacted to the post, “And 13 with the Bucks!” Another wrote, “Giannis, my father, my king, my Greek god, I love you so much. Plz don’t leave, this city needs you and I do too.” One more said, “Giannis we love you. But go where you want do what you want we appreciate you in the 414 forever.” “Hopefully year 13 is in bucks uniforms,” wrote another.A fan also wrote, “You changed the city and don’t owe us anything. Go get it!” Another said, “12 years but grinding like is day 1.”Also Read: Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee in doubt after third straight playoff exit - Bobby Portis give his two cents The Milwaukee Bucks once again couldn’t move beyond the first round of the playoffs after facing the Indiana Pacers.
