Roses do take a while to grow, but when they do, the looks and fragrance of the space is simply surreal. To get quick flowers, bring home a healthy sapling with 2-3 roses intact, and add them to a compost rich soil and feed fertiliser once every two weeks.

Another beautiful flower variety is the Cosmos, and these tall flowers do not need any fancy soil or fertiliser to grow. Even with seeds, you can see the first flowers bloom in about 2 months from planting as long as you make sure to give them enough space, sunlight, and water.

Although it feels very fulfilling to grow Aparajita straight from the seeds, it will take a lot of time and effort to make them flower. If possible, get a cutting of the Aparajita plant or a sapling, and then in 2-3 months, you will have a vine flowing through the garden.

One of the most beautiful indoor plants, the Peace lily flowers bloom even in indirect sunlight, and are super low-maintenance. If you bring a mature Peace lily plant home, and give it good care, soon you will see a beautiful white flower with golden buds.

If you have a garden, Portulaca will cover it with beauty! Also called Moss Rose, Portulaca is a succulent that needs minimal maintenance, and it blooms beautifully in dry, hot weather.

Another Indian summer favourite, Jasmine, be it the night-blooming variety or the regular ones, is a delight to grow. The beautiful white-lilac coloured flowers will grow even from seeds in about 3-4 months, and if you have an old plant, it just might flower again in the season.

Petunias are colourful, low-maintenance flowers that bloom throughout the season if cared for right, and although growing them from seeds can be tricky for first-time gardeners, maintaining a healthy sapling or plant will be easy as they quickly bloom into flowers.
